What is Restorative Yoga?
Yoga restorative is a restful and gentle practice that works deep into the nervous system, musculoskeletal system and our organs. Restorative yoga helps us rest and relax and includes conscious breathing, deep relaxation, comfortable and very mild stretches that are supported by blankets, bolsters, blocks and belts. Each posture is held for an extended period of time and serves to reduce stress levels, high blood pressure, indigestion, generalised fatigue as well as improve your immune system.
Who is this training for?
This course is for qualified yoga teachers (minimum 200-hr qualification) and students who are currently participating in a yoga teacher training i.e. teacher trainees.
What do we cover?
This unique teacher training weekend intensive focuses on the practice, art and teaching of restorative yoga. The weekend offers a retreat-like atmosphere which includes practice, study and learning of Restorative asana, the basic anatomy and physiology of Restorative yoga, as well as, how to sequence and teach a restorative yoga class.
Particular emphasis is given to assisting and adjusting the postures to suit individual needs. This training is designed for teachers and teacher trainees and includes ample time for exploring, understanding and practicing adjusting the postures.

The art of teaching Restorative yoga: environment, intention, breath, sequencing and assisting – Basic Anatomy/Physiology of Restorative yoga
Journaling and discussion
About course director
Anna Ashby has been studying and practicing yoga for 29 years and teaching for 20 years. She is one of London’s leading yoga teachers and is a founder and senior faculty member of Triyoga’s teacher training program and holds the highest level of certification from Yoga Alliance both in the UK and in the US (E-RYT 500/Senior Teacher). Anna’s teaching style has evolved from her study of dance, in-depth training with established, classical yoga systems that focus on alignment, and a dedicated meditation practice that developed while she lived for 12 years in a yoga ashram in upstate New York. She has been teaching Restorative Yoga for over 10 years using the weekly classes to develop and refine her teaching of the restorative practices. Accreditation and certification
This training is accredited with Yoga Alliance and counts towards your continuous professional development hours with Yoga Alliance. Upon completion of the course you will receive a 25-hr certificate that you can use to register your hours with Yoga Alliance.
